Karen Koch, CPA, MT
Executive Vice President - Mid-West Region
Karen has over 20 years of experience in public accounting and private industry. Before joining Bedford, Karen was employed by a national accounting firm working in the area of tax compliance and tax consulting for middle market companies and high wealth individuals. Karen was a vital part of the firm’s cost segregation practice.
Karen is a member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Louisville and is serving as delegate. She is a member of the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In addition to professional involvement, Karen is active in the community and currently serves on the membership committee and is a Diplomat for the Shelby County Chamber. She is also a member of St. Matthews Area Business Association. Previously, Karen has assumed leadership roles as the chairperson for the Advisory Committee for Gifted and Talented Students in Virginia and the Vice President for the Highlands Chapter of the Virginia Society of CPAs. During her employment with a national accounting firm, Karen was selected for their Women Into Leadership program. She has published for national tax publications on tax topics and cost segregation. She has lectured on cost segregation providing CPE training to accounting firms and tax institutes.
Karen received her B.S. in Accounting from the University of Virginia’s College at Wise and was named Outstanding Major in Accounting. She later completed her Master of Taxation at Old Dominion University.
